  (EN) An oil-in-water emulsion, especially for use on mammalian skin, in particular on human skin, or hair in order to cleanse the skin or hair, remove dirt, etc., and/or to preserve or improve the condition of the skin, and/or to prevent or treat various skin conditions such as, e.g., dry skin, irritated skin or otherwise traumatized skin. Upon application on a skin surface and following rinsing or flushing the skin surface with a liquid, the oil-in-water emulsion separates into at least two distinct phases and leaves a protective layer on the skin comprising at least a part of the oily phase. The oil-in-water emulsion also has useful properties with respect to protection of the skin against sun light and with respect to combatting attack from parasites like lice, fleas and scabies on mammals such as humans, domestic animals and pets. Also disclosed is a skin-friendly lipid, namely Meadowfoam seed oil, as a therapeutic agent, and as an agent which in itself in synergistic effect with other constituents is effective against mammalian parasites, especially from the phylum Arthropoda, and as an agent which is effective as a sun screen or a UV-A, UV-B or UV-C filter.(FR) L'invention porte sur une émulsion huile dans l'eau destinée aux soins de la peau des mammifères et en particulier à la peau et aux cheveux de l'homme et servant au démaquillage, au nettoyage et/ou au maintien ou à l'amélioration de l'état de la peau et/ou à la prévention et au traitement des peaux sèches, irritées ou traumatisées. Lors de l'application de la lotion sur la peau suivie d'un rinçage par un liquide, l'émulsion huile dans l'eau se scinde en au moins deux phases et laisse sur la peau une couche protectrice comprenant au moins une partie de la phase huileuse. Ladite émulsion présente des propriétés utiles en matière de protection de la peau vis à vis de la lumière solaire et de lutte contre les parasites tels que les poux, les puces, la gale de mammifères dont l'homme, les animaux domestiques et les animaux de compagnie. L'invention porte également sur un lipide adoucissant: l'huile de graines dite Meadowfoam servant d'agent thérapeutique, exerçant un effet synergique sur d'autres constituants, et s'avérant actif contre les parasites des mammifères et notamment contre le Phylum Arthropoda et comme écran solaire ou filtre des rayons U.V. A, B, ou C.
