An efficient protocol for the synthesis of internal aryl alkynes was achieved via Cu-catalyzed decarboxylative cross-coupling reactions, and to the best of our knowledge, this is the first example of a Cu-catalyzed decarboxylative alkynylation of benzoic acids with terminal alkynes.
