    Provided is a color-developing composition containing a molecular compound which has as a component compound a compound represented by formula (I) [wherein Y represents a C1-C12 hydrocarbon group which is chained or branched and saturated or unsaturated, or a C1-C8 hydrocarbon group which is chained or branched, saturated or unsaturated and has an ether or thioether bond; R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 each independently represent a C1-C6 alkyl group or C2-C6 alkenyl group; n, p, q and r each represents any integer of 0 to 4; and m represents any integer of 0 to 2]. Also provided is a recording material with a sufficient color-forming sensitivity, superior storage stability, and especially with an extremely little background fogging in a heat resistance test.

    A fluoran compound of the general formula (I) is useful as a cyan color-former in heat- or pressure-sensitive copying material: wherein R₁, R₂, R₃, R₄, R₅, R₆, R₇ and R₈ are each hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, aryl or alkoxy, or halogen, R₁ to R₄ and/or R₅ to R₈ may be combined to form a ring, and Ra, Rb, Rc, Rd, Re, Rf, Rg and Rh are each hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl, amino, carbamoyl, acyl, thioalkoxy or aryloxy, nitro or halogen. The fluoran compounds (I) may be produced by reacting fluorescein chloride and/or fluoroscein bromide with an indoline derivative in the presence of a solvent and zinc chloride and/or aluminum chloride.

    A coating composition used for coating of a steel material and/or aluminum material comprises a corrosion inhibitor, a base resin and a curing agent. The corrosion inhibitor may be selected from cerium compounds, lanthanum compounds, molybdate salt compounds, gluconic acid derivative salts, porous base materials, triazole compounds, thiazole compounds, tetracyclines, and metal phosphate salt compounds of ascorbic acid. The base resin may include a xylene-formaldehyde-resin-modified amino-containing epoxy resins obtained by reacting an epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent of from 180 to 2500 with a xylene formaldehyde resin and an amino-containing compound. The curing agent may be a blocked polyisocyanate compound obtained by blocking an isocyanate group of a polyisocyanate compound with a blocking agent.
