This invention is concerned with compounds of the formula
and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The invention further relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds, to a process for their preparation and to their use for the treatment and/or prevention of diseases which are associated with the modulation of SST receptors subtype 5.
The present invention aims at providing compounds having therapeutic effects due to a DPP-IV inhibitory action, and satisfactory as pharmaceutical products.
The present inventors have found that derivatives having a substituent introduced into the γ-position of proline represented by the formula (I)
wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification, have a potent DPP-IV inhibitory activity, and completed the present invention by increasing the stability.

The present invention relates to (1-benzyl-piperidin-4-yl)-(pyridin-2-yl)-amines that are fast dissociating dopamine 2 receptor antagonists, processes for preparing these compounds, pharmaceutical compositions comprising these compounds as an active ingredient.
