A thermoplastic resin composition comprising by weight 100 parts of an amorphous resin (excluding polyphenylene ether) and from 0.01 to 25 parts of a diamide compound of the formula
wherein R', represents a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon residue having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an aromatic hydrocarbon residue having 6 to 10 carbon atoms, or a derivative thereof, and R2 and R3 which may be the same or different each represent a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon residue having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a saturated or unsaturated alicyclic hydrocarbon residue having 3 to 10 carbon atoms, or a derivative thereof. The moldability of the amorphous resin is improved without reducing its heat resistance.
