Abstract The preparation of diaryl carbazones on solid-phase is reported for the first time. Using Fe(NO3)3.9H2O as oxidant, seven diaryl carbazones have been synthesized under mild conditions in excellent yields. The method is convenient and efficient.

Abstract A new simple method for the preparation of bis (substituted phenyl) carbodiazone compounds (ArN=NCON=NAr) is reported. Nine of the compounds were synthesized by the oxidation of aryl substituted carbazide with ferric chloride in acid medium with good yield.

Using potassium chlorate, sulfuric acid and ferrous sulfate as a catalytic oxidation system to oxidize the aryl substituted carbazide to preparenew type bisazo compounds in one phase have been described for the first time in this paper. Eight bisaryl carbodiazones have been synthesized in high yields under mild conditions. A possible mechanism has been suggested.

Abstract Two-phase dehydrogenation, which is a new reaction of aryl substituted carbazide compounds, is described in this paper. Ten new azo compounds were synthesized by the reaction of aryl substituted carbazide compounds with a phenoxyl radical between two phases in good yields.

Abstract The preparation of bisaryl carbodiazone compounds from the aryl substituted carbazides with CericAmmoniumNitrate (CAN) has been reported for the first time in excellent yields (80-91%). This method only needs simple instruments and short reaction time. A possible mechanism has been suggested.
