Bidentate and tridentate, sulfur-containing, mono-amide ligands, designed to exhibit specificity for platinum group metals (pgm), have been prepared. Preliminary extraction studies indicate that the tridentate ligands exhibit selectivity for palladium(II) in the presence of base metals. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
