Photoreaction of halomethyl substituted benzocyclic ketones with amines: radical cyclization and ring expansion reactions promoted through photoinduced electron transfer processes
A photocatalytic aminomethylation of heterocycles with organic dye is reported. The C−C bond formation through a aminomethyl radical formation enables access to a series of functionalized heterocycles in one step with no need of transition metals.
photoreactions of α,β-unsaturatedγ,δ-epoxynitriles 1, 2, 13 and 16 with triethylamine give rise to novel 1 ∶ 1 α-adducts (e.g., 5) efficiently. Substituted 1,4-dicyanobenzenes are prepared as electron-accepting photosensitizers. The efficiency of some photosensitized reactions is influenced remarkably by the substituent(s) of 1,4-dicyanobenzene. By using mono or dimethylated dicyanobenzene, the reactions proceed more rapidly as compared with that by using 1,4-dicyanobenzene itself.
