Abstract The infrared spectrum of allene-1,1- d 2 was examined from 1.6 μ to 38 μ with a prism spectrometer and a complete assignment of all fundamentals, overtones and combinations is given. The force constants of allene were calculated by means of a normal coordinate analysis with the frequencies of allene and allene- d 4 . Frequencies calculated for allene-1,1- d 2 support the assignment of fundamentals
