hydrocarbyl, hydrocarbylsilyl, or hydrocarbylamine substituents for one or more hydrogen atoms of said cations. The compositions can be used to activate olefin polymerization catalysts, and can be prepared to dissolve in aliphatic solvents. Syntheses and polymerization are illustrated.
