  近年来，已广泛研究了由手性高价碘试剂介导的萘酚衍生的羧酸的催化，对映选择性氧化环化反应，但非羧基底物的类似反应仍是未知的。本文描述了一种催化，对映体选择性，高碘促进的萘醇氧化环醚化反应。新工艺依赖于Uyanik-Ishihara催化剂的一种变体，其中的立体构型中心已重定位为更靠近碘原子。新的催化剂设计可提供与Uyanik–Ishihara碘化物可比的光学收率，但化学收率至少在测试基材上明显更高。甚至更成问题的反应是萘磺酰胺的催化，对映选择性氧化环化。在这种情况下，新催化剂比Uyanik–Ishihara碘化物具有更高的光感应强度。证明了特定萘酚的动力学拆分。通过X射线衍射确定了本研究中获得的大量对映体富集化合物的绝对构型。
