Aggregation-induced emission, mechanochromism and blue electroluminescence of carbazole and triphenylamine-substituted ethenes

are investigated. All luminogens are nonemissive when molecularly dissolved in good solvents but become highly emissive in the aggregated state, showing a phenomenon of aggregation-induced emission.
