Halogenated and alkylated N-arylcyanothioformanilides were reacted with the nucleophilic reagents triethylamine, hydrazine and diphenyldiazomethane to produce N-arylcyanothioformanilide ammonium salts, a thiosemicarbazide and a 2-(arylamino)-3,3-diphenylacrylonitrile, respectively.
