To provide a high-order chloroalkane production method in which a chloroalkane is subjected to a dehydrochlorination reaction in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst composed of a metal chloride, the obtained chloroalkene is subjected to a chlorine reaction and the obtained reaction solution is purified by distillation, after a metal component derived from the catalyst is removed from the reaction solution, the reaction solution is distilled, thereby making it possible to reduce the amount of a deposit on the inner walls of equipment and pipes and to carry out distillation stably and continuously for a long time.
