The development of new modulators possessing high efficacy, low toxicity and high selectivity is a pivotal approach to overcoming P-glycoprotein (P-gp) mediated multidrug resistance (MDR) in tumour cells. The present disclosure relates to compounds of Formula (IA)
and to their prodrugs, pharmaceutically acceptable salts, pharmaceutical compositions, methods of use, and methods for their preparation. The compounds disclosed herein are useful for the treatment of disorders in which P-glycoprotein and/or cytochrome P450 (e.g. CYP3A4) is modulated (e.g., cancers which have developed multi-drug resistance).
There are provided novel compounds of formula I ##STR1## wherein D, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, X and p are as defined in the specification together with processes for their preparation, compositions containing them and their use in therapy. Compounds of formula I are expected to be useful inter alia in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders.
