Syntheses and structures of two Zn(II) complexes with the pentadentate Schiff-base ligands
摘要:
Two structurally divergent zinc complexes [Zn center dot H2L1 center dot Cl-2] center dot 0.5CH(3)OH (1) and [Zn-2 center dot L-2 center dot. Cl-2 center dot (CH3OH)(2)] of the newly designed pentadentate H2N3O2 Schiff bases H2L1 and H2L2 have been synthesized and structurally characterized. 1 has one five-coordinated Zn(II) ion in a distorted square-pyramid while 2 contains one novel seven-coordinate ZnN3O4 core in a pentagonal bipyramid polyhedron and one ZnO2Cl2 core in a trigonal pyramidal geometry. The coordinated units in 1 and 2 are both linked by hydrogen bonds forming infinite one-dimensional zigzag chains. (C) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Two mononuclear Mn(II) complexes derived from pentadentate ligands were prepared and characterized. Molecularstructures of the complexes were determined by X-ray diffraction studies. Mn(II) ions in both structures are seven-coordinate with approximate pentagonalbipyramidal geometry where the pyridinediimine unit and phenolic or alcoholic oxygen atoms (N3O2) of the ligand are located at the pentagonal
