  There are disclosed a compound having the following formula: in which R' denotes an aromatic group; Z represents a group (wherein R' denotes hydrogen, a salt forming cation or a protective group for carboxylic acid, and R' denotes hydrogen or a residue of a nucleophilic compound); and X' and X2 each represent hydrogen or a halogen atom, provided that both X' and X2 cannot represent hydrogen at the same time; processes for preparing the same; and an intermediate compound useful for preparing the same. The above mentioned compound has a broad antibacterial spectrum and shows strong antibacterial activities against not only gram-positive bacteria but also the gram-negative bacteria, particularly the resistive gram-negative bacteria.
