A series of O,O′-dialkyldithiophosphoric acids have been studied by 31P NMR, and a four-bond 31P-1H scalar coupling has been detected. This coupling is unusual because it is observed between phosphorus and only one of two available protons located on the same carbon, even when the alkyl fragment is simply an alkane that should not show any conformational preference. Variation of the structural features of the alkyl group showed that this coupling involved a “W” pathway.

mono-carboxylic acid promoter during the neutralization of a primary dialkyl dithiophosphoric acid. The process results in reducing crude sediment whereby the resulting overbased metal dithiophosphate may need not undergo additional filtration steps prior to its intended use.

A novel product formed by forming the metal salt of the product of reaction between a dialkyl or diaryl phosphorodithioic acid and a sulfurized olefin possesses among other things, good antiwear and antioxidant activity. Organic compositions containing a minor amount thereof also possess good lubricating characteristics.
A device, system, and method of controlling pests are disclosed. A pest control device includes a sensor having a sensor cell and a controller. A surface of the sensor cell is coated with an agent that reacts with a targeted biochemical analyte secreted by pests. The controller is coupled to the sensor and is configured to receive sensor data from the sensor cell indicative of a rate of change in sensor mass detected on the surface of the sensor cell, determine whether the rate of change in the sensor mass based on the received sensor data exceeds a predefined threshold rate, and transmit a pest detection alert notification to a server in response to a determination that the rate of change exceeds the predetermined threshold rate.
The invention relates to a seal swell agent which is a substituted sulfonyldibenzene compound, and lubricating compositions containing the seal swell agent. The substituents on the benzene rings may be hydrocarbyl groups of 4 to 20 carbon atoms or alkylene groups of 1-2 carbon atoms with further functional groups.
