Although 2-diazoacenaphthenone did not react with phenyl isocyanate or phenyl isothiocyanate on prolonged reflux in toluene, it reacted with strongly electrophilic benzoyl and p-chlorobenzoyl isocyanates and thiobenzoyl isocyanate to give the corresponding spiro[acenaphthenone-2,5′-oxazolin-4′-one] and the spiro-thiazolin-4′-one in good yields. On the other hand, the reaction of the α-diazoketone with

The three-component reaction of acenaphthenequinone, fullerene C 60 and hexaethyltriaminophosphine leads to the formation of the new methanofullerene – 2-3’-cyclopropa[1,9](C 60 -I h )[5,6]fulleren-3’-yl}-1-acenaphthenone.
Reaction of 2-diazoacenaphthenone with anils in the presence of a catalytic amount of borontrifluoride etherate is reported. The diazoketone reacts with benzylidenanilines to afford a mixture of stereoisomers of spiro[acenaphthenone-2′,4-imidazolidine], whose structures correspond to compounds derived from 1:2 adducts of the diazoketone and anils with the elimination of nitrogen. The preparation of new tetraaminoethylenes was attempted by the reaction of chlorotrifluoroethylene (CTFE) with several amines. It has been found that CTFE reacted with piperidine and morpholine to give tetrapiperidino- (TPE) and tetramorpholinoethylene (TME) in moderate yields respectively, although no tetraaminoethylenes were formed in the reactions with diethylamine, pyrrolidine, aniline, N-alkylaniline
