Rhodium(I) complexes of 4-t-butylcyclohexyldiaziridine and adamantyldiaziridine: Synthesis, structure and catalytic activity

Rhodium(I) complexes of the ligands adamantyldiaziridine and 4-t-butyicyclohexyldiaziridine have been prepared and characterised. The structure of [RhCl(cod)(4-t-butylcyclohexyldiaziridine)] has been established by an X-ray diffraction study. The rhodium is coordinated to the equatorial nitrogen atom of the diaziridine. The complexes are rather poor catalysts for hydrogenation or hydroformylation of alkenes.
