Abstract Chlorine trioxide Cl 2 O 6 added on an excess of TiCl 4 gives a series of anhydrous oxo-chloro-perchlorato complexes of titanium IV corresponding to the formula: Ti 6 O 4 Cl x (ClO 4 ) 16−x . x increases with the molar ratio TiCl 4 : Cl 2 O 6 and reaction time. Infrared and Raman spectra of these compounds are consistent with polymeric structure containing bridging bidentate perchlorato groups
