A Cu/(NHC)-catalyzed SN2′-selective substitution reaction of allylic electrophiles with gem-diborylalkanes is reported. Different substituted gem-diborylalkanes and allylic electrophiles can be employed in this reaction, and various synthetic valuable functional groups can be tolerated. A Rh(I)Cl-DPPB-complex-catalyzed sequential hydroboration of aryl alkynes and aliphatic alkynes was achieved. The reaction proceeded with almost perfect regioselectivity to afford 1,1-organodiboronate compounds in moderate to good yield.

A transition‐metal‐free method for the alkylation of gem‐diborylalkanes with α,β‐unsaturated ketones has been developed. It is demonstrated that the α‐boryl radicals can be generated efficiently from gem‐diborylalkanes with the aid of catechol and oxidants.
