We report herein a highly efficient Pd-catalyzed amination by “bulky-yet-flexible” Pd-PEPPSI-IPentAn complexes. The relationship between the N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) structure and catalytic properties was discussed. Sterically hindered (hetero)arylchlorides and a variety of aliphatic and aromatic amines can be applied in this cross-coupling, which smoothly proceeded to provide desired products

the efficient preparation of Bippyphos, 1. The key precursor to Bippyphos, 5, was prepared via a one-pot bromination of diketone 2 followed by alkylation with pyrazole and condensation with phenylhydrazine. Lithiation of 5 and trapping with di-tert-butylchlorophosphine afforded Bippyphos, 1. Using this approach we have prepared several derivatives of Bippyphos to probe the structure and activity relationships
prepared, the new dialkyl-2-(N-arylindolyl)phosphines (cataCXium P) perform excellently in the palladium-catalyzed amination of aryl and heteroaryl chlorides. Coupling of both activated and deactivated chloroarenes proceeds under mild conditions (room temperature to 60 degrees C). By using optimized conditions remarkable catalyst productivity (total turnover number, TON, up to 8000) and activity (turnover

their linkage with the activated carbon surface is revealed by XAS analysis. Control NMR experiments revealed the binding of the ligand with both Cu and Pd, and all phosphine molecules are under the same environment. In addition to NMR and XAS analysis, the catalyst is characterized by SEM, HRTEM, XPS, and TGA. Reactions are highly reproducible at variable scales. Environmentally benign, proline-based
