    [Li(THF)][Zn-3(CH2CN)(3)(LiBr)(NPMe3)(4)] (1) has been prepared from the heterocubane [ZnBr(NPMe3)](4) and LiCH2CN in tetrahydrofuran suspension to give colourless crystals which were characterized by IR-spectroscopy and by a crystal structure analysis. 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnam with four units per unit cell. Lattice dimensions at 203 K: a = 2156.9(10), b = 1546.9(14), c = 1226.2(4) pm, R-1 = 0.0756. The structure consists of the anionic heterocubane [Zn-3(CH2CN)(3)(LiBr)(NPMe3)(4)](-), the eight skeleton atoms of which are the three zinc atoms and the lithium atom as well as the four nitrogen atoms of the phosphoraneim inato groups. The charge of this anionic cube is compensated by a Li+-ion to which is coordinated a THF molecule, as well as three cyanomethyl-nitrogen atoms of three different cubes. This results in the formation of a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.

    A novel form of mixed-linker ZIF with the RHO topology is one of four zinc-imidazolate frameworks prepared with purine and 2-nitroimidazole. In this structure the linkers order to give a large pore solid with a high pore volume and an unusual symmetry and linker orientation. It possesses extra-framework zinc imidazolate units decorating the internal surface which can be removed to give high porosity.

    A new dinuclear zinc(II) complex, [Zn2Br2L2] (I), was prepared from 4-methyl-2-[(2-methylaminoethyl-imino)methyl]phenol (HL) with zinc bromide in methanol. Self-assembly of I with ammonium thiocyanate in methanol afforded the mononuclear complex [Zn(L)(HL)](2)[Zn(NCS)(4)] (II). Structures of complexes I, II have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and single crystal X-ray diffraction (CIF files CCDC nos. 1046617 (I), 1046618 (II)). Complex I possesses a crystallographic two-fold rotation axis symmetry, with Zn center dot center dot center dot Zn separation of 3.106(1) . Complex II contains two mononuclear zinc(II) complex cations and one [Zn(NCS)(4)] complex anion. The Zn(1) atom in I is in a tetrahedral coordination. The Zn(2) atom in I and the Zn atoms in II are in octahedral coordination. Crystals of I, II complexes are stabilized by hydrogen bonds.
