Reaction of Ru5(μ5-C2PPh2)(μ-PPh2)(CO)13 (I) with 5-chloro-4-chloromethyl-2,4-dimethylpent-1-ene in refluxing CHCl3 affords Ru5(μ5-C2)(μ-PPh2)2(μ-Cl)2(CO)11 (3) and Ru5(μ-H)μ5-CC(PPh2)}(μ-Cl)(μ-PPh2(CO) (4).
