    Adhesive tapes comprised of a curable composition comprising: (A) at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of ethylene/alphaolefin copolymer, ethylene/alphaolefin/nonconjugated polyene terpolymer, said polymer having a number average molecular weight of between about 500 and about 14,000; (B) an effective amount of curative having an activation temperature of at least about 100°C; and (C) (optionally) a blowing agent possess admirable qualities for use as insulating compositions. Also disclosed are composites comprised of a substrate having cured insulating tape compositions adhered thereto.

    Provided is a method of modifying a blowing agent including coating a metallic siloxylated compound or a silane compound on the surface of the blowing agent in a wet cake state. In the method of modifying a blowing agent, an operation of drying the blowing agent is omitted, and thus the method has effects of cost reduction and productivity improvement by simplifying the process. In addition, since the blowing agent prepared according to the present invention has excellent dispersibility in a resin, foam cells are uniformly formed and productivity can be improved. Since the fluidity of the resin is improved, productivity can be improved.

    Provided is a modified blowing agent, wherein the surface of a blowing agent powder is coated with a metallic siloxylated compound. When the modified blowing agent is included in a polymer resin, dispersibility of the modified blowing agent is excellent in the polymer resin and fluidity of the polymer resin is improved in an extrusion molding machine and an injection molding machine, and thus productivity and processability can be improved. In addition, the foam that is formed using the polymer resin composition including the modified blowing agent has excellent tear strength, durability, and masking sound properties due to fine and uniform size of foam cells and increased number of foam cells per unit surface area.

    Disclosed is a thermally expandable composition, comprising (a) at least one polymer P, cross-linkable by a free-radical initiator, and (b) at least one solid butyl rubber BR, and (c) at least one free-radical initiator, and (d) at least one blowing agent, and (e) at least one tackifier TA, whereby the cured expanded composition has a volume increase compared to the uncured composition of less than 1300%. The thermally expandable composition is able to provide good expansion behaviour and good adhesion on metal surfaces and is especially suitable for baffle and/or reinforcement elements, e.g. in automotive manufacturing.
