    The invention relates to a method for the stabilization of polyolefin films against degradation in the presence of agrochemicals comprising incorporation into the polyolefin a stabilizer composition comprising i) at least one o-hydroxyphenyl triazine ultraviolet light absorber (I) selected from 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3,5-triazine compounds ; ii) at least one ultraviolet light stabilizer selected from tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl compounds (II) according to Formula II wherein: X represents a bridging group selected from the group of -O-C(=O)- , -CR'2-C(=O)-, -CR'2-C(=O)-NR'- , -NR'-C(=O)- , -C(=O)-NR'- , -O- , -NR'- or -C(=O)- where each R', independently, represents H or C1-20 hydrocarbyl; Z represents H, -R, -C(=O)-R or -OR where R is a C1-20 hydrocarbyl, said hydrocarbyl being optionally substituted with one or more hydroxyl, C1-30 alkoxy or C2-30 alkanoyl; R3 is a C6-30 hydrocarbyl; each of R1 and R2 is, independently, chosen from H and C1-C6 alkyl; and iii) at least one light stabilizer (III) chosen from hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) different from compound of formula II.

    A substrate excellent in weatherability and adhesion to a coating applied thereon is provided. The substrate contains (a) 100 parts by mass of a polyolefin resin, (b) 0.01 to 0.5 parts by mass of an aromatic phosphoric ester metal salt having general formula (1), and (c) 0.02 to 0.5 parts by mass of a hindered amine compound, preferably a compound having general formula (2), and optionally preferably (d) 0.02 to 0.5 parts by mass of a benzoate light stabilizer having general formula (4). The structures of general formulae (1), (2), and (4) are as defined in the description.

    The present invention provides an antioxidant for a thermoplastic resin that provides an excellent oxidation-preventing effect to a thermoplastic resin and that has an excellent effect of preventing a change in color caused by nitrogen oxides. Specifically, a compound represented by any of General Formulae (2) to (4), particularly a compound in which R2 in the formulae is an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms whose terminal on an oxygen atom side is linked with -CO-O-, is used as the antioxidant for a thermoplastic resin. Details of General Formulae (2) to (4) are as described in the description.
