  Benzothiazine compounds having the general formula:- wherein R1 is lower alkyl opt. substituted by carboxy, aryl and carboxy(lower)cycloalkyl; aryl opt. substituted by halogen, lower alkyl, halo(lower)alkyl and lower alkoxy; haloarylamino; or heterocyclic group; R2 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkylamino(lower)alkyl, aryl or ar(lower)aikyl; and R3 is hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; n is 0, 1 or 2 and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are useful in the treatment of autoimmune diseases.
