We describe the synthesis, characterization and properties of the new electrophilic palladium and platinum complexes bearing electron-rich PC(sp(3))P pincer ligands. We found that Lewis acidity of the compounds is low due to the strong sigma-donation of the sp(3)-carbometalated ligand backbone. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
