  Die Erfindung betrifft neue 3-Amino-2-cyano-acrylsäure­ester der Formel (I) in welcher R¹ für Alkoxyalkyl oder Benzyloxyalkyl steht, R² für Alkyl oder Alkenyl steht, R³ für Wasserstoff oder Alkyl steht, R⁴ für Wasserstoff oder für gegebenenfalls durch Hydroxy, Halogen, Alkoxy oder Dialkylamino substituiertes Alkyl steht, X¹ und X² gleich oder verschieden sind und für Wasser­stoff, Halogen, Nitro, Alkyl, Alkoxy, Alkylthio, Halogenalkyl, Halogenalkoxy, Amino, Alkylamino, Alkylcarbonylamino, N-Alkylcarbonyl-N-alkyl­amino, Dialkylaminocarbonylamino oder jeweils gegebenenfalls substituiertes Aryl oder Aryloxy stehen, oder X¹ und X² gemeinsam mit dem angerenzenden Phenylrest für Naphthyl stehen und m für die Zahlen 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 oder 5 steht, für den Fall, daß R⁴ nicht für Wasserstoff steht, auch deren optisch aktive Verbindungen, ein Verfahren zu ihrer Herstellung und ihre Verwendung als Herbizide sowie neue Zwischenprodukte.

  Herbicidally active 3-amino-2-cyano-acrylic acid esters of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents alkoxyalkyl or benzyloxyalkyl R.sup.2 represents alkyl or alkenyl, R.sup.3 represents hydrogen or alkyl, R.sup.4 represents hydrogen, or represents alkyl which is optionally substituted by hydroxyl, halogen, alkoxy or dialkylamino, X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 are identical or different and represent hydrogen, halogen, nitro, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, halogenoalkyl, halogenoalkoxy, amino, alkylamino, alkylcarbonylamino, N-alkylcarbonyl-N-alkylamino, dialkylaminocarbonylamino or in each case optionally substituted aryl or aryloxy, or X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 together with the adjacent phenyl radical represent naphthyl and m represents the number 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. Intermediates of the formula ##STR2## are also new.
