Two series of novel dendritic ligands based on (1S,2R)-norephedrine have been designed and synthesized, and incorporated into Ru(II) complexes as catalysts for asymmetric transfer hydrogenation. Some dendritic catalysts demonstrated dendritic acceleration effects as well as high catalytic activity and good enantioselectivity. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
