containing sodium hydride gave the corresponding 7,7′-(α,ω-alkanediyl)bis[theophylline], 1,1′-(α,ω-alkanediyl)bis[theobromine], and 1,1′-(α,ω-alkanediyl)bis[3-methyluracil]. The interaction of the theophylline, theobromine, and 3-methyluracil rings of these compounds was studied based on their 1H NMR spectra, and stacking of the two purine rings of 7,7′-(α,ω-alkanediyl)bis[theophylline] was observed.
Polyesters compositions comprising gas barrier enhancing additives and containers comprising such polyester compositions are provided herein. Also provided are methods for preparing polyester containers comprising said gas barrier enhancing additives. The polyester containers of the present invention exhibit decreased permeability to gases thereby providing improved shelf-life.

Bifunctional molecules having first and second alpha-synuclein binding agents coupled by a linker are disclosed. The bifunctional molecules have potential utility in the diagnosis, treatment and/or prophylaxis of disorders in which alpha-synuclein is implicated, including Parkinson's disease. Methods of making and using the bifunctional molecules are disclosed.
