Triallylborane–amines adducts are effective stoichiometric allylating agents in the aminoallylation reaction of carbonyl compounds in methanol. Moreover, copper-catalyzed diastereoselective allylation of Ellman’s imine was achieved with triallylborane–methylamine adduct.

5a-i were prepared in overall 74% yield from 1-(triphenylphosphoroylideneaminoalkyl)benzotriazole using an aza-Wittig reaction with aldehydes followed by a double Grignardreaction with allylmagnesiumbromide. Use of vinyl or 1-propynylmagnesium bromide and allylmagnesiumbromide in a sequential fashion also formed the expected doubly unsaturated amines 9a,b and 12, respectively.

I zinc we're alone now: The title reactions were achieved in an undivided cell fitted with a pair of zinc electrodes in aqueoussolution. A preliminary study on the relationship of reaction activity and surface morphology showed that the deposited zinc powders with nanoscale architectures had very high activity.
