Synthesis of heterotrimetallic complexes containing M–Hg–Pt (M = Pt, Fe, Mn, or Co) arrays

Heterotrimetallic complexes [HgPtR(PPh3)2}2](R = 2,3,4-C6H2Cl3, 2,4,6-C6H2Cl3, 2,3,5,6-C6HCl4, or C6Cl5) have been prepared by reaction of [Pt(CH2CH2)(PPh3)2] with [RHg–PtR(PPh3)2]. From the reactions of [HgPt(C6Cl5)(PPh3)2}2] with [HgFe(CO)2(η5-C5H5)}2], [HgMn(CO)5}2], and [HgCo(CO)4}2], the complexes [(η5-C5H5)(CO)2Fe–Hg–Pt(C6Cl5)(PPh3)2], [(CO)5Mn–Hg–Pt(C6Cl5)(PPh3)2], and [(CO)4Co–Hg–Pt(C6Cl5)(PPh3)2]
