  (EN) Amide tetrazoles of formula (1) wherein aryl includes phenyl and naphthyl, unsubstituted or substituted, X is =O, =N-R5, or -NR3R4, where R2, R4, and R5 include alkyl and alkoxy and R2 includes alkyl, are potent inhibitors of the enzyme acyl CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT) and are thus useful for treating hypercholesterolemia or atherosclerosis.(FR) Cette invention se rapporte à des amides tétrazoles, représentés par la formule (1) où aryle comprend phényle et naphtyle, insubstitué ou substitué, X représente =O, =N-R5, ou -NR3R4, où R2, R4 et R5 comprennent alkyle et alcoxy et R2 comprend alkyle. Ces composés constituent de puissants inhibiteurs de l'enzyme acyl-CoA:chlolestérol acyltransférase (ACAT) et ils sont par conséquent utiles pour traiter l'hypercholestérolémie ou l'athérosclérose.
