    The invention relates to a vinyl disulfone compound of general formula (I) In which X, which may be present or absent, is an organic moiety comprising from 1 to 16 carbon atoms; Y is a fluorophore or biomolecule; R1 is an organic moiety comprising from 1 to 16 carbon atoms, together with Y forms part of the fluorophore or biomolecule, or R1 corresponds to X-Y as defined previously; R2 is a C1-C3 alkyl or -CH2-Z in which Z is O, N, S or a halide; and R3 and R4 are independently selected from H, an alkyl group or an aryl group. The invention also relates to methods of preparing bioconjugates using the compound of formula (I), and bioconjugates prepared thereby.

The electrode for active oxygen species can detect active oxygen species such as superoxide anion radicals, hydrogen peroxide, and .OH and other active radical species (NO, ONOO—, etc.) in any environment including in vivo environment as well as in vitro environment. The electrode thus can be used for specifying various diseases and examining active oxygen species in food or in water such as tap water and sewage water.

    A reactive oxygen species measuring device according to the present invention comprises a reactive oxygen species sensor provided with an electrode assembly capable of detecting the presence of reactive oxygen species or the like in terms of an electric current, a power source means for applying a measuring voltage to the reactive oxygen species sensor, and a reactive oxygen species concentration measuring means for measuring a concentration of the reactive oxygen species or the like from the current detected by the reactive oxygen species sensor. According to the present invention, a concentration of reactive oxygen species or the like such as in vivo or in vitro superoxide anion radical (O2-.) can be measured reliably, and the entire device can be formed in a smaller size and always mounted to a living body. In addition, the measured data can be transmitted to a remote place or location, and further, the health condition of a living body or the like determined in the remote place can be returned to a measuring place and informed, and thus, the health condition of the living body can be monitored by measuring and monitoring reactive oxygen species.

    To provide a composition (e.g., a coating composition) useful for forming an organic semiconductor having excellent conductivity, solvent resistance, heat resistance, durability, and other properties, and an organic semiconductor formed with the composition. The composition comprises an aromatic polycarbonyl compound having a carbonyl group as a reactive site, and at least one aromatic reactive component selected from an aromatic polyamine having an amino group as a reactive site, and an aromatic heterocyclic compound having a plurality of unmodified α-carbon positions, as reactive sites, each of which is adjacent to a hetero atom of a heterocycl thereof. When the aromatic reactive component is an aromatic heterocyclic compound, the aromatic polycarbonyl compound is an aromatic polyaldehyde compound. Use of the composition in which at least one component of the aromatic polycarbonyl compound and the aromatic reactive component has not less than 3 reactive sites per molecule forms an organic semiconductor having a three-dimensional crosslinked structure.
