Disclosed are flexible polyamines, flexible amine-terminated polyformal adducts, flexible-amine-terminated polythioether adducts, compositions comprising flexible polyamines and isocyanate-terminated prepolymers, and compositions comprising flexible amine-terminated adducts and isocyanate-terminated prepolymers. High strength composites prepared by (A) mixing (1) an aqueous slurry of negatively charged, water-insoluble natural or synthetic fiber such as cellulose fiber, (2) a latex having a high density of pH independent cationic charges, such as sulfonium, bound at or near the particle surface, (3) a water-soluble, high molecular weight anionic polymer co-additive, such as a hydrolyzed polyacrylamide and optionally (4) conventional wet and additives; (B) draining water from the resulting aqueous suspension and (C) drying by heating.

Structured particle latexes are prepared by emulsion polymerizing monomeric materials in aqueous media in one or more stages wherein in at least one of the stages a reactive polymeric surfactant is used. The resulting latex contains nonionic particles to which are bound the reactive polymeric surfactant which forms a layer containing stabilizing anionic or cationic groups such as sulfonic, sulfonium, quaternary ammonium, or sulfonate groups chemically bound at or near the surface of the polymer particles dispersed in the aqueous media. These latexes are particu- lady suitable for beater additives, coatings and composite binders.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Kunstharz auf der Basis von mit Alkoholen modifizierten Polyepoxiden. Das Kunstharz kann hergestellt werden durch die Umsetzung eines Diepoxides oder eines Gemisches von Diepoxiden mit einem Epoxidäquivalentgewicht unter 500 mit Verbindungen mit einer gegenüber Epoxidgruppen reaktiven Hydroxylgruppe im Molverhältnis von 2:1 bis 7:6 bei Temperaturen von 100° bis 180°C in einem hydroxylgruppenfreien organischen Lösungsmittel. Das Kunstharz weist endständige Epoxidgruppen und ein mittleres Molekulargewicht von 400 bis 5000 auf.
