A one-pot approach to fluorinated hydroxamic acid, amide, and thioamide derivatives is reported. The reaction proceeds via an N-perfluoroalkylation of nitrosoarenes with perfluoroalkanesulfinates, resulting in labile N-perfluoroalkylated hydroxylamines.
