A cooperative catalytic system, consisting of CuI and pyrrolidine, has been developed for an efficient synthesis of 2-substituted quinolines. A combination of both the catalysts is necessary; the use of either catalyst alone does not give the product.

Au(SIPr)NTf2 has been identified for the roomtemperature ATA reaction to afford diverse 1,3-disubstituted allenes with 1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline as amine and aldehyde and TFE or HFIP as the mediator. A formal synthesis of (−)-centrolobine and synthetic transformations have been demonstrated.

Synthesis and crystal structures of copper complexes with N,N,N-tridentate chelating ligands containing o-phenanthroline-appended benz-fused polyazoles and their catalytic application in A3 coupling reaction
spite of similar type of ligands, structures of the complexes are quite different which can be attributed to the electronic effect of the ligands.
