preparation of Mo2(DTolF)3Cl2, I, DTolF− = [N,N′-di-p-tolylformamidinate] and Mo2(DPhF)3Cl2, II, DPhF− = [N,N′-diphenylformamidinate] from the reaction of the corresponding tetraformamidinate compound with one equivalent of ferrocenium chloride and chlorotrimethylsilane is described.
