Two one-dimensional cadmium(II) coordination polymers, [Cd(MDPhHIDC)(H2O)2]n (1) (MDPhH3IDC = 2-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid) and [Cd(MDPhHIDC)(2,2′-bipy)]n (2) (2,2′-bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine), have been hydrothermally synthesized, and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analyses and IR spectra.
