Inherently tacky infusible pressure-sensitive adhesive microspheres are prepared by suspension polymerization of at least one water insoluble alkyl acrylate ester by conducting the polymerization in the presence of a buffer provided in an mount sufficient to maintain pH of 6 to 9.5 and preferably 7 to 8, in the presence of a surfactant to stabilize the product.
The resulting microspheres are useful for coating stationery products that are intended to be adherent to a substrate but easily removable and repositionable.
