  Aminosulphur trifluorides are prepared by reacting a secondary amine with SF4 in a reaction solvent containing a selected tertiary amine to produce the aminosulphur trifluoride product and a liquid amine-HF adduct. Substantially no solid amine-HF adduct is produced and the process produces aminosulphur trifluorides, such as dialkyl, diaryl and arylalkyl aminosulphur trifluorides, in high yields.
