AbstractChemical and spectroscopic evidence for the structural formula 9 of chlorothricolide methyl ester, derived from the aglycone of the antibiotic chlorothricin, is given. By chemical degradation and spectroscopic investigations structure 41 is deduced for the intact antibiotic.

An aromaticsubstitution of aryltrialkylborate anions with methyl fluorosulphonate, which permits the preparation of ortho-dialkyl-substituted aromatic compounds as well as the corresponding dihydroaromaticderivatives, is described.
This invention relates to novel N-(substituted-naphthyl-1)anthranilic acids and their salts, and also to a process for the synthesis of these compounds. These compounds and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are novel and therapeutically useful as anti-inflammatory agents and analgesics, and they may be orally or non-orally applied, or administered by other methods.
