  3H-naphth[1,2,-d] imidazole derivates of formula wherein R stands for (C1-6)aslalkyl, (C3-6)alkenyl, (C3-6) alkynyl or (33-7)cycloalkyl. R1 and R2, each independently may represent hydrogen, halogen, (C1-4)alkyl, (C1-4)alkytthio. (C1-4)alkoxy or halo(C1-4)alkoxy and the symbol A represents a 5- or 6-membered hetaoeromatic ring or a phenyl radical optionally substituted, are claimed. Also described and claimed are processes for preparing the novel compounda, their use as antiinflammatory and antimicrobial agents and pharmaceutical compositions con- taming them.
