Monitoring Chemical Warfare Agents: A New Method for the Detection of Methylphosphonic Acid
摘要:
Methylphosphonic acid (MPA) is the degradation product of many chemical warfare agents. The convenient detection of this substance would aid in field testing to confirm illicit manufacture and use of banned chemical weapons. Efficient functionalization of MPA with an aromatic diazo compound allowed binding by monoclonal antibodies elicited by using an analogous hapten (see scheme). An ELISA assay was rapid, sensitive, and specific.

The Ru(porphyrin)CO-catalyzed addition of aryl azides to styrenes to afford N-aryl aziridines was successfully performed for the first time in mesoreactors under continuousflow conditions. Mesofluidic technology allowed for a rapid screening of different parameters and a quick identification of the optimized reaction conditions.

An efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of 3-substituted lawsones using 10 mol % Sc(OTf)3 in toluene at −78 °C through a Buchner-Curtius-Schlotterbeck reaction. This method is simple and convenient to the synthesis of pharmaceutically relevant 3-substituted lawsones in high to excellent yields.
