Abstract A number of metal complexes of dithiocarbazicacid and its 3-phenyl and 3,3-dimethyl derivatives have been prepared and characterized. Neutral complexes of the type ML2 or ML3 were obtained for each ligand and NS bonding was observed for complexes of dithiocarbazicacid while SS bonding was observed in its substituted analogues. The methods of preparing 2,4-dihydro-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiones are discussed. The structure of the reaction products of these compounds or their methiodides with amines is determined to be 1,3-dihydro-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiones.

the 3,6-position with a geminal dithiol-bridging group. These sulfur-bridged piperazinediones formally represent derivatives of the 2,4-dithia-6,8-diaza-7,9-dioxobicyclo[3.2.2]nonane ring system. Attempts to transform these sulfur-bridged piperazinediones to 3,6-epidithiopiperazinediones by removal of the bridging group common to the sulfur functionality were unsuccessful. Studies also are reported of
