Abstract N-(4-Oxo-2-sulfanylidene-1,3-thiazolidin-3-yl)benzamides were synthesized by reaction of substituted benzohydrazides with 2,2′-(carbonothioyldisulfanediyl)diacetic acid. Water was found to be the optimal reaction medium. The reaction conforms to the green chemistry principles, and the yields are nearly quantitative.

The synthesis and characterization of some dioxoyranyl(VI) complexes containing-3-benzamidorhodanine and its substituted derivatives as ligands are reported. The structure of complexes is discussed on the basis of spectral (UV, IR and NMR), elemental analyses, conductivities, molecular weights and thermal analysis (DSC, DTA, TGA and TG) results.
