  Verbindungen der Formel worin R' in 4- oder 5-Stellung gebunden ist, R und R' -CH2OH, -CH2CH2OH, -CH2 CH20CH2C6H5, -CH2-X, -CH2P+(Y)3X-, -CH2P(O)(C1-3-Alkoxy)2 oder-CH=CH2, R" C1-10-Alkyl, X ein Halogenatom, X- das X entsprechende Anion und Y gegebenenfalls durch C1-5-Alkyl substituiertes Phenyl bedeuten, können nach einem neuen einfachen Verfahren in guten bis sehr guten Ausbeuten dadurch hergestellt werden, dass man Nitrile R"-CN in Gegenwart eines Kobalt(1)-Katalysators mit Alkinen HC≡C-Z (Z = -CH2OH, -CH2CH2OH oder -CH2CH2OCH2C6H5) co-cyclotrimerisiert, die erhaltenen Pyridine entweder zu Verbindungen der Formel I mit R und R' = -CH=CH2 dehydratisiert oder in die entsprechenden Bis-Halogenmethylpyridine überführt, diese mit Triphenylphosphinen oder Trialkylphosphiten umsetzt und die erhaltenen Pyridinphosphoniumsalze oder Pyridinphosphonsäure-tetralkylestereiner Wittig- oderWittig-Horner-Reaktion unterwirft. Verbindungen (I) mit R und R' = -CH=CH2 können auch durch direkte Umsetzung von Nitrilen R"-CN mit Vinylacetylen in Gegenwart von Kobalt(I)-Katalysatoren hergestellt werden und finden z.B. Anwendung als Vernetzungsmittel oder zur Herstellung von Polymeren.
