A series of low-molecular-weight, compact, and multifunctional cyclic alkenylsulfonyl fluorides were efficiently prepared from the corresponding alkenyl triflates. Palladium-catalyzed sulfur dioxide insertion using the surrogate reagent DABSO effects sulfinate formation, before trapping with an F electrophile delivers the sulfonyl fluorides.
